Drs. Ernest & Florence Phillips Drs. Ernest and Florence Phillips Co-Ministered the Hemet, CA Church of Religious Science from May, 1979, to February, 1995, after founding the Charlotte, NC, Church of Religious Science.  Both are graduates of Asbury College, Wilmore, KY. Dr. Ernest, who is a graduate of Emory University Candler School of Theology, Atlanta, GA, served on the International Board of Trustees of the United Church , and Dr. Florence served as Secretary of the United Church General Convention Planning Committee for over 10 years and was a member of the International Board of Trustees and the Transitional Team. Having over 18 years experience in the traditional thinking, the Ministers feel they have a special understanding to help bridge the gap of those seeking to embrace New Thought thinking. The Ministers received the Doctor of Divinity Degree from the United Church in November 1993, being the first husband-wife team to be so honored simultaneously. After a brief stint at retirement, the Ministers successfully served the Greater Daytona, FL, Church of Religious Science, the Palm Springs, CA, Church of Religious Science before "coming home" to the First Church of Religious Science here in Hemet, CA as the Interim Ministers.
